Inkscapelite
It's not an request, but maybe an idea.
A lot of distros have 'inkscape' (a vector draw/design program) in the repositories.
The normal version is a bit too heavy and puppy linux uses a 'lite' fork.
The good news is that the sourcecode is downloadable, the bad news is that the server is protected with a username and password. So hotlinking is not possible :[
WIth that in mind it's for me very difficult to make a PKGBUILD file.

But I figured out a few things that maybe handy if someone can host it and make a PKGBUILD for it.
The sourcecode is available at: http://bkhome.org/sources/alphabetical/i/
and it's called: inkscapelite-0.36.3.tar.gz
The username to login is: puppy
Password is: linux
The dependencies are: ('freetype2' 'pango' 'libxml2' 'gtk2' 'uclibc' 'cairo' 'libpng' 'atk')
And I believe that the libtool stuff needs to be removed.

Perhaps an idea?

Hardware in use: Compaq PIII- 1GHZ, Geforce 4000, 256mb, 80gb HD

It's a very good idea ... I was missing something like Inkscape ...
and now the link .... it doesn't need to be directly downloadable. In many cases it's sufficient to include just the download procedure in form of comments in the PKGBUILD and put a plain filename without the http://something.somethingelse/somedirectory/ part into the sources. The question is if there's no license restriction for the sources and I don't want to make the puppy's password publicly available .... so .... we can make an exception this time ... I've already downloaded the sources and if you share just the PKGBUILD (using a plain filename), then it's enough :]

RE: Inkscapelite
Well here it is, about the pwd system I don't know...
Several servers are using the same name and pwd in the 'puppy' world.
This is the PKGBUILD.

Code:
# Maintainer: theo - nl2stk

pkgname=inkscapelite
pkgver=0.36.3
pkgrel=1
pkgdesc="Inkscape the light edition"
url="http://www.isinthetext.not.com"
license=('GPL2')
depends=('freetype2' 'pango' 'libxml2' 'gtk2' 'uclibc' 'cairo' 'libpng' 'atk')
source=($pkgname-$pkgver.tar.gz
${pkgname}_16x16.xpm
${pkgname}_32x32.xpm)
md5sums=('2e1bac246a93a56a4fcdfab83f354d6e' 'e660746d78edb51de4b0705fd009460a'\
         '1e3425293651c9b4608bf05cea2e41a6')

build() {
  cd $srcdir/$pkgname-$pkgver
  ./configure --prefix=/usr --mandir=/usr/man --host=i386-pc-linux-gnu --build=i386-pc-linux-gnu
  make || return 1
  make DESTDIR="$pkgdir" install || return 1
  install -Dm 644 $srcdir/${pkgname}_32x32.xpm $pkgdir/usr/share/pixmaps/${pkgname}_32x32.xpm
  install -Dm 644 $srcdir/${pkgname}_16x16.xpm $pkgdir/usr/share/pixmaps/${pkgname}_16x16.xpm

  # Remove the libtool stuff
find ${pkgdir} -depth | grep “\.la” | while read libtool_file ;do
rm -f $libtool_file
done
}

There is already a desktop and .png file
The .xpm files are in the tar

RE: Inkscapelite
If you like it, change the description to "Inkscape Light it's like Inkscape but sugar free!".
