Hi Charlie.

Yes ... it should work well.
Let us know how that goes :] And if you experience any problems, don't hesitate to ask.
We'll be glad to help you.
DeLi(cate) 0.1 alpha3 CD is already available for download ... unfortunately we just had a DoS attack and our server was unreachable the whole day.

Your english is well understandable :]

Welcome Charlie,

450 Mhz and 64 mb, I guess that makes a perfect candidate for DeliCate :]
I'm using it on 3 pc's: P1, P2 and P3 from 48 to 384Mb.
With 64mb it's most likely that puppy 'swaps' and makes it much slower than Delicate.
Some .pet or .sfs files are rather big, I would not recommend Puppy.

ps. Don't worry to much about your English, I didn't notice an English teacher in the forum :]

Oh ... I'm gonna find and kill those attackers Angry

I don't understand why they harm non-profit opensource projects and prevent people from downloading stuff that can't affect anybody's commercial intentions. Undecided

My cousin experienced several days long attacks to his e-shop with RC models just before Christmas and that's understandable (but NASTY and can be called crime!) ... but why us? Huh

I don't get that either, if they wanna be 'heroes' there are several sites or servers to attack (I'm thinking about pro-kiddyporn organisations for example).

RE: Compaq LTE Elite 4/75CX
Hi!, I'm sorry but this lappy don't have floppy or cd and dont boot from usb Sad, but I can run Puppy with a little and genie trick;
I connect the HDD via usb adapter and made a 200mb FAT32 partition and make a "Live USB" with that partition and put in back to the laptop and Bravo! I successfully installed Puppy in my 2001 Laptop Big Grin, but sadly this don't work with Delicate Sad.
Today I buyed a Old Toshiba External Floppy Case with a IBM floppy connector and incredibly, a Panasonic KXL-RW10A external SCSI-PCMCIA CD-R/RW Writer and a Ethernet PCMCIA adapter, sadly the floppy cable are broken and I need to fix it (tomorrow).
So guys, you think that this External CD it's compatible with delicate?
I wait you answers.

Charlie

RE: Compaq LTE Elite 4/75CX
Hi Charlie.

1.) DeLi(cate) should support the former DeLi approach and should be installable from FAT without problems. The only thing you need to install is GRUB4DOS for booting the installer.

... but ... the following way is faster and easier

2.) DeLi(cate) can be pre-installed in different computer (using QEMU)

qemu-kvm -cpu 486 -m 128 -hda /dev/sdX -cdrom delicate-0.1-alpha3.iso -boot d

replace the sdX with device name of the USB connected harddrive (BE VERY CAREFUL to chose the right device!)

-------------------

PCMCIA CDROM would need additional kernel modules and is very likely unsupported by the installer, but might work in the installed system.
