Sugestion for delicate-linux
Jonas Östergren Wrote:Wanted to post this on the board. But the system didn’t like me (User jonas.x.ostergren@gmail.com is known spammer and it continued with deny due to “lots of spam from my IP/email address” when trying with “spray.se” Domain. I do hope that it is the domain part it rejects on. Anny suggestion for solving this problem with the board? |

RE: Sugestion for delicate-linux
Hello Jonas.
I had to enable several spam filters in order to prevent the forum from being contaminated. At the moment I don't know how to solve this issue, because the spam filters use centralized databases. You could try to register using a different email address, but if your IP is blacklisted, then it's probably easily unsolvable. Theo (nl2stk) submitted "snownews" to the review queue several months ago and it was immediately introduced. You could try that and if you don't like it, then we could introduce something else (according to your choice) if the software is suitable for DeLi(cate). |

RE: Sugestion for delicate-linux
Hello Jonas and Tavvva.
I'm not sure, but I think Jonas meant a newsgroup reader. Snownews is a RSS newsreader. If it's only for reading and writing in newsgroups and not for downloading movies etc. Sylpheed can do that job. But for the CLI, I think TIN is a good catch. Perhaps I can make a PKGBUILD for it in the near future (yep, hospital issues.... again). I think I can do that. I'm just testing hopefully the last version of the serial cable installer and it seems the 0.1-alpha3 is almost ready. I definitely want to release it this week. Thanks for answering. |

On monday I'll have to visit the hospital again for further examinations. They told me that the change is high that a new and bigger operation is needed. And there is still stuff to be done at home before the operation ![]() Hardware in use: Compaq PIII- 1GHZ, Geforce 4000, 256mb, 80gb HD Dutch Delicate Linux information: http://www.delicatelinux.nl.ae |

Thankx ,I'll do :] But it didn't kept me away from the 3th Alpha (yeah resistance.. where is it?). I've installed it on a spare computer (Tulip PII). It's running fine :] If I know the specifications from this machine I'll post it in the right topic. RE: Sugestion for delicate-linux
I've tried to make a PKGBUILD for Tin but I received several errors.
make[2]: execvp: ./parsdate.y: Permission denied make[2]: *** [parsdate.o] Error 127 make[2]: Leaving dir..... /src make[1]: *** [install] Error 2 make[1]: Leaving dir.... /src make: ***[install] Error 2 ==> ERROR: Build failed That's way beyond my knowledge, so I think it's wiser to look at another program which does the same job. I believe there must be plenty of nntp clients for the CLI. Hardware in use: Compaq PIII- 1GHZ, Geforce 4000, 256mb, 80gb HD Dutch Delicate Linux information: http://www.delicatelinux.nl.ae |

Other client would be a solution too :] 'suck' seems to work (at least, I can build it and it starts) but there are 4 executables, It think it's not very userfriendly to use 4 seperate programs for just 1 thing, so time to look further.
